B&B

The building that you have chosen for your short stay to Ragusa, dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, and it has been completely refurbished in 2000.

We do not want to add intentionally nothing else, because we would want you to see with your eyes this so a little known, but so enchanting corner of the Sicily.

The dry stone walls and the centenarian carob trees (two elements of the landscape in a class of one owns) make the Hyblaean upland a people- oriented place. The wonderful beaches of gilded sand and the blue sea, where the Commissary Montalbano does his morning bath are distant about 20 kilometres.

The house is located in the heart of Ragusa Ibla and leans against the hill where the medieval castle rose. This favourable position offered us a delightful vegetable garden, that you find at the third floor, and which is almost completely occupied by an ancient black mulberry tree, by a lemon tree and by an arbour.  We admit that this vegetable garden is one of the reasons why this house made us fall in love with it. At our terrace confined on the vegetable garden it is possible to enjoy the sight of the dome of St. George and of Ragusa superior; besides, it is possible to enjoy your breakfast, an aperitif or to read a book in perfect silence.

The bedrooms are located at the ground and first floor and are provided with bath, air conditioning and TV.

A hundred metres from our B&B, there is the cathedral of St. George and his square surrounded by palaces in Baroque style, and captured by the Italian cinema. Beyond the square itself, you can enjoy the conversation circle, the Donnafugata palace, the Hyblaean gardens. The best restaurants, between which the “ Il Duomo” restaurant (Michelin- starred), will be able to satisfy all your senses.
